Based on Tulsa Botanic Garden's design and collaboration with Weber Group, who provided the base structure, we did the shape and texture and sculpted the "Spring Giant" out of concrete. This is by far the most significant sculpture that we have done! It is a massive head with species native to Oklahoma sculpted into the face. We carved volutes into the outside along with rockwork around the perimeter. The rear features a stone mosaic pathway that we laid according to TBG's design. Inside the giant are bats sculpted into the ceiling and themed alcoves. Standing inside, guests can peer through the giant's mouth while water pours down from the upper mouth to a pool below the lower teeth. From there, the water flows through the teeth and onto the floor outside. The ceiling contains an oculus (circular opening) and glass and prism film. When the light comes through, it creates a kaleidoscope on the floor below. Bringing this guy to life was challenging at times, but the result was gratifying.
